AQI and Sunday Games Update

AQI and Sunday Games: As many of you know NYSA executive board as well as many other clubs in the area canceled all afternoon games today. They will reevaluate in the morning. While the weather forecast says the winds are shifting over night, the Bolt Creek Fire has obviously caught everyone off guard.

NYSA Policy:
- NYSA threshold for canceling HOME GAMES is 150 AQI
- Match officials have the ultimate authority to cancel games for any safety reasons (including AQI)
- Between 100-149 AQI extra subbing and hydration is encouraged as needed (clock continues to run during hydration breaks)

I am scheduled to be on a pitch tomorrow as well, so please do not email me to ask if your game is to be played. You are welcome to text me, but expect delays if after 9. ALL CRs please use airnow.gov to determine the AQI for your area or the link on our site. If between 100 -149 the call is yours, team would like to play if they can, but it is our responsibility as match officials to ensure player safety.
